Epta S.p.A. (EPTA), a global player in commercial refrigeration, strengthens its presence in the north of Germany with the acquisition of refrigeration activities from HEIFO GmbH & Co. KG. (HEIFO).

EPTA operates worldwide through six different brands, producing and marketing complete refrigeration systems. Its product lines include, traditional positive vertical and semi-vertical, vertical and negative horizontal refrigeration counters, incorporated unit counters (Plug-in) for the retail, food
& beverage and horeca sectors, medium and large power units and cold rooms, and a complete portfolio of pre- and after-sales services. Headquartered in Milan, it has more than 6,000 employees, several production sites in Italy and abroad, and a capillary technical and commercial presence all over the world, guaranteed by more than 40 technical-commercial branches.

Based in Osnabrück, Germany, HEIFO is a fourth-generation family business with experience in industrial and commercial refrigeration services, as well as in professional air-conditioning and food industry solutions. Founded in 1856, the company has more than 160 years of experience in the development and implementation of professional air conditioning and refrigeration solutions.

The transaction provides for the transfer of all refrigeration activities, valued at EUR 25 million in 2022 with over 120 employees, from HEIFO to a newco 100% owned by EPTA (HEIFO Kältetechnik GmbH), ensuring continuity in day-to-day business activities. The perimeter of the deal does not include “Professional Food Solutions” business (HEIFO PFS-Group) that will be kept by HEIFO. The inclusion of HEIFO Kältetechnik GmbH in an international group as EPTA, with a strong heritage and recognized as a point of reference in the market, will allow the creation of new synergies and the continuous improvement of installation and services activities to support green transition.
