Lucchini S.p.A., one of the most important Italian groups active in the production of steel, has sold 100% of BFM (Bari Fonderie Meridionali S.p.A.) to DT Výhybkárna a strojírna AS, a Czech company specialized in the designing and manufacturing of turnout structures for railway, underground and tramway tracks, with a turnover of about Euro 45 million.

K Finance, together with its Czech partners of Clairfield International, has been advisor to DT.

BFM, former Breda Fucine Meridionali, is the leading Italian manufacturer of permanent railway superstructures materials since 50 years. BFM employs about 100 people and its turnover amounts to about Euro 15 million.

Bedrich Grulich, Chairman of DT – Výhybkárna a strojírna AS said: ´We are satisfied to have acquired BFM, a leading company in the production of cast manganese steel which strategically fits with DT production of turnout structures for railways allowing us to widen our presence in the European and international markets´.

Marcello Calcagni, CEO of Lucchini Group, said: ´This sale will grant BFM a further consolidation of the business as part of DT group which is fast becoming one of the most skilled and active groups in the field of turnout structures for railways in the world. This will allow Lucchini to focus on finding industrial and strategic partnerships for the other Italian sites (Piombino, Trieste, Condove and Lecco)´.

Lucchini has been advised by Studio Dandria, as legal advisor.
