LIMONTA – TIP

The Limonta family sold to Tamburi Investment Partners S.p.A. (“TIP” – tip.mi), an independent and diversified industrial group listed on the STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange, 25% of Limonta S.p.A. (“Limonta”), partly througa leading European group in the high-end textile sector. The entry of TIP in the capital of Limonta S.p.A. was made partly through a capital increase and partly through the purchase of shares.

The total investment will be approximately €89 million.

Limonta’s shareholders were advised by Equita K Finance, partner of Clairfield International and part of Equita Group, as financial advisor, by Hilex for the legal aspects and by Studio Bordoli for the tax aspects.
TIP has been assisted by Fivelex for the legal aspects.

The aim is to support the owners and the management in the growth of the group – also through external lines – so that Limonta can assume the role of aggregator in the sector of high value added textiles in Italy, with the aim of “creating a system” in a sector that is still very fragmented.

Paolo Limonta, President and CEO of Limonta S.p.A. stated: “We believe that TIP can be the ideal partner to support the Limonta family, who maintains the control, in the realization of the project of accelerated industrial growth of the Group. We have immediately shared values, strategies and above all a long-term approach. After more than 120 years of history we are very happy to start a further development phase.”

The Limonta family and TIP have also agreed to envisage a stock market listing of Limonta in the medium term.

Limonta is one of Europe’s leading high-end textile groups, with an estimated turnover for 2021 of more than 160 million Euro, an Ebitda over 20% and approximately 850 employees.
Limonta has a complete textile supply chain, combining resin, coating, coagulation and printing technologies, with a particular focus on the development of sustainable products.
The coexistence of these two production and technological “souls” makes Limonta unique in the international competitive landscape of plain, jacquard and coated fabrics for clothing, accessories and furniture.
The company has also developed skills, know-how and a wide range of innovative processing and technical solutions that, combined with a consolidated orientation towards ESG issues – in terms of respect and protection of the environment, social and employee initiatives, and responsible management of the supply chain – has allowed it to position itself as a strategic partner of all the biggest international luxury maisons.

Tamburi Investment Partners is a public company listed on the Euronext STAR segment of the Milan Stock Exchange, focused on medium-sized Italian companies. It carries out activities of: investment in minority equity and advisory in extraordinary finance transactions.
