Grupo GSS – Covisian

The Spanish company Grupo GSS, specialized in customer management services, was acquired by Covisian, an Italian company leader in business process outsourcing services and innovative customer care solutions, controlled by the Aksìa Capital IV fund of Aksìa Group sgr.

Covisian is growing rapidly through acquisitions. GSS is just the latest in a series. In 2018 it bought RBS-Retail banking Services srl, in 2017 Vivocha, in 2016 CSS spa and the directory assistance business 1254 from Italiaonline.

The acquisition of GSS was financed by a pool of banks composed of Crédit Agricole Italia (which also acted as agent bank), Bnl-Gruppo Bnp Paribas and Banco Bpm, assisted by Studio Legale Dentons.

In the transaction, Grupo GSS was assisted by the advisors K Finance (Clairfield Italy), Clairfield Spain and Lincoln International, by EY TAS Spain and Peru and by the law firm Simmons & Simmons.

Covisian was assisted by Garrigues of Madrid, Accinni Cartolano e Associati of Milan and De Luca & Partners of Milan, and by EY Transaction Advisory Services and Tax Italia, Spain and Peru.

GSS is a Spanish customer service company, active for over 25 years. It has about 7,700 employees and is present in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Zaragoza, La Coruña, Badajoz), in 7 Latin American countries and in the USA.

Covisian is Italy’s second largest business process outsourcing (BPO) operator, with 4,500 workstations, 6,400 employees in 17 locations and over 50 customers. The group was born on the initiative of Aksìa, which at the end of 2015 acquired and brought under a single holding company the companies Contacta and Visiant Contact. It closed 2018 with a turnover of 180 million Euro and, thanks to the acquisition of GSS, the turnover rises to about 300 million Euro, generated by more than 14 thousand people in 2 continents and 12 countries.
